Flipped Classroom Model
A flipped class model provides a way for students to spend more time in class applying key concepts and receiving guidance from the teacher. Pre-assessment and practice is done at home so that students have more time in class for instruction and collaboration.
Before the Lesson
- Assign one or more challenges to pre-assess readiness or practice prerequisite skills.
- Review student performance to inform instruction. Which students need extra practice? Which demonstrate readiness for the lesson?
During Class
- Students receive instruction based on their performance data.
- Provide direct instruction and/or time to work through Mangahigh's recommended challenges to students who need remediation
- Students who are ready to move forward work on Mangahigh recommended challenges while you provide remediation or provide peer tutoring.
Note: Students who preform well on challenges receive extension activities in their recommend list.
After Class
- Assign a challenge to check understanding and/or extend learning
